| Buco plinth and stand up table In connection with the enlargement of Aarhus Musikhus the leading Danish architectural design practice C.F. Møller, Aarhus decided to design a new line of furniture for the foyer in the new parts of Aarhus Musikhus. A very delicate challenge for the architects involved because the furniture mix into the decoration of the large room made by the famous artist Ingvar Cromhammer. In co-operation between C.F. Møller and Inventarrum a plinth and a stand up table were created. The impression is in "between a rock and a soft place" using the contrast between the heavy monolithic volume and the warm, silky surface. The interaction between the simple expression, the characteristic carvings that inspired to the name of the range, BUCO , and the big pillars in the foyer all together formed the architecture of the room. |
| MODU:PICNIC The range is developed in a simple and elegant idiom which does not steal the attention from the surroundings it is placed in. All the elements in the range have been kept in the same idiom. The purpose has been to create a range of furniture for public spaces with a simple design, but which at the same time has design expressions that help increase the experience of the architecture. The base material is hot-galvanized steel which can be combined with different wood, expanded metal, glass etc. This makes it possible to adapt the elements to the surroundings. For the range we have developed a table/bench set and a covering. MODU:PICNIC table/bench set has primarily been developed for courtyard and cafe environments, but is obvious for use in connection with classical buildings where rendezvous are created. |
